Welcome to Abigail Leigh Designs!
Hi. I’m Abigail, an artist, illustrator, designer, and former art teacher who believes deeply in the power of color, creativity, and community. I was born and raised in Michigan, and now I’m lucky enough to be raising my two boys here in the same beautiful state that continues to inspire so much of my work.
After more than a decade teaching middle and high school art, I returned to painting during the pandemic as a way to stay grounded, process change, and reconnect with my creative roots. That return quickly grew into a thriving studio practice and full-time creative business, one that blends fine art, functional goods, and meaningful collaborations with my local community.
From my home studio, I create:
Bright, nature-inspired watercolor and ink artwork
Prints, cards, and original pieces to bring joy and beauty into your space
Absorbent, colorful towels and thoughtful gift sets for every occasion
Graphic design for small businesses and nonprofits
Children’s book illustrations and custom commissions
Art classes for kids and adults, taught right here in the community
Many of my pieces are inspired by the everyday beauty around me — from fresh market finds to Michigan’s lakes, woods, and wildlife. My towel designs have become a colorful staple in kitchens, bars, and bathrooms across the state and beyond, and my seasonal gift sets are carefully curated to be cheerful, practical, and full of heart.
I’m proud to teach at The SHAC, our local art center, where I also serve as Vice President. It’s a vibrant space filled with creativity, collaboration, and connection and it’s where many of my classes and events come to life.
